Education
Luis R. Sandoval studied his bachelors and first masters degree in Mexico. He holds a second masters degree in counseling psychology from Boston College and a doctoral degree from the University of Texas-Austin.
His pre- and post-doctoral training were at Harvard Medical School-Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. Since 2015, he has been part of the faculty at Harvard Medical School in the Department of Public Psychiatry where he teaches advanced seminars, supervises psychology doctoral students, psychiatry residents and does clinical research. He has served as a clinical research consultant at the Yale School of Medicine and the Johnson Space Center in Houston, among others.
In addition to his private practice, as part of his research work, he trains and supervises clinicians in cognitive remediation treatments for early and chronic psychosis across the New England area.
